Pioneer Electronics has appointed Lako Pacific to distribute its Pro Video players in Australia.

Established in 1986, Lako Pacific is the country’s largest distributor of innovative digital technologies, including digital video software and hardware solutions.

“Lako Pacific is an ideal choice for Pioneer because of their long association with the professional video market. We now look forward to working in partnership with Lako Pacific to strengthen our Pro Video business in Australia, says Rob Thompson, general manager for Corporate Planning at Pioneer Electronics Australia Pty Ltd.

Heading up the Pioneer account at Lako Pacific is Brad Morton, a former Pioneer employee, who previously worked with Thompson.

“We’re thrilled to once again have Brad working with our Pro Video products. Having been closely involved with the Pro Video range during his time at Pioneer, Brad brings plenty of product and market knowledge to the partnership” adds Thompson.

Concurring with Thompson’s sentiments is Lako Pacific Managing Director, Evan Kourambas.

“We’re thrilled to be involved with a great brand like Pioneer, which adds even more depth to Lako's professional range. Brad's knowledge of Pioneer and the product range augers well for the success of the relationship,” says Kourambas.

Lako's appointment follows a mutual decision between Pioneer and IDT to relinquish their long-serving partnership as a result of changes in business direction.

"Pioneer's association with IDT goes back about 20 years and has been successful, but times change and both companies are moving on", Thompson said.

The appointment of Lako Pacific is effective immediately.

Pioneer’s Pro Video range includes a HD Video File system (HD-V9000 - $5,599), a high quality Industrial DVD player (DVD-V8000 - $1,999), as well as a professional Blu-ray Disc player (BDP-V6000 - $1,899).
